Day 02 - Sat 10th Sept - Ventura to Gilroy

Los Padres National Forest

So we start the day heading out to the Los Padres along Route 33. And the locals seem to like it. And having watched a video or two…so do I! We head out of the forest and into a desert as we point our front wheels at Santa Maria and then continue north along route 1 after a break. I wonder if Santa Maria Harley Davidson have donuts?

Along the Pacific Coast Highway and Big Sur

Now we have the sea to our left as we follow Route 1 north through Big Sur and then onto Monterey and Carmel. Clint Eastwood used to be the Mayor and it is a a proper postcard little town. Expensive though. We might be able to spend some time along the sea front for a look through the shops, it will really depend on our attitude at the time. The hotel is about 40 minutes away
