So the bikes as we know are all going to be rented from Eagle Rider, I am dealing with them direct so hopefully we can get some sort of discount. “If you book in September, I will still provide you with a 10% discount off of the base rate.” That was their words, so I will hold them to that. One of the things we are going to be doing is visiting many of the National Parks. So one of the America the Beautiful Park Passes will save us a packet. Also travel insurance, seeing as we are travelling so far, and Ryan and Jason will be on the same bit of road on tour….just sayin…. These guys seem to tick the box which is where I am getting mine from. Bikers Travel Insurance, they seem to cover most of the stuff we need.

Bike Choices Picking up from LA means that the choice of bike has increased. Sports, touring and even electric bikes are available to meet everyone’s needs. There will be a 20% deposit required on booking. And I asked about refunds, because who knows what the future holds. And I was told by booking with them direct we could transfer the deposit rather than someone just get store credit.

Truck Trip Ellie is still going to be driving on the ladies trip as they snake their own way, on occasions, across to Washington. There will be, at the moment, 4 of them enjoying the air conditioned comfort as they make their own memories. It is not a support vehicle, but it can assist with luggage. And each of us on the bikes will put in £50 for the truck fuel. The truck will not be with the bikes every night so a day bag will be needed as well.

Hotels The prices for the rooms have all been calculated as a twin room rate. So basically 2 double beds, this seems to be an American standard. At present as a rough guide, as it is too early to book we are looking at about £2100 for the whole trip from a twin room. So if you are sharing a room, just half the cost. I have tried to keep the costs down without ending up in some dive!
